WATCH OUT FOR: REFLEXIVE PRONOUNS

- We use reflexive pronouns when the subject and object are the same.
(Nós usamos pronomes reflexivos quando o sujeito e o objeto são o mesmo, ou seja, a ação feita pelo sujeito é sofrida por ele mesmo.)

b) We do not use reflexive pronouns after: bring, take something with… (Nós não usamos pronomes reflexivos depois de: trazer, pegar / levar algo com…)
b.1) I took/brought a book with me. (not with myself) (Eu levei / trouxe um livro comigo. Não, comigo mesmo.)
c) We do not use reflexive pronouns after: concentrate, feel, meet, relax, wash, shave, dress. (Nós não usamos pronomes reflexivos, em inglês, depois de: concentrar, sentir, encontrar, relaxar, lavar, barbear, vestir.)

We can also use the reflexive pronouns for emphasis (Nós podemos também usar pronomes reflexivos para ênfase):
a) I fixed the car myself. (Eu consertei o carro eu mesmo.)
b) I myself fixed the car. (Eu mesmo consertei o carro.)
c) They painted the house themselves. (Eles pintaram a casa eles mesmos.)
d) They themselves painted the house. (Eles mesmos pintaram a casa.)
e) He talked to the president himself. (Ele falou com o presidente em pessoa.)
f) He himself talked to the president. (Ele próprio / em pessoa falou com o presidente.)
