| We use Prepositions of Movement to describe the direction in which something or somebody is moving.(Usamos preposições de movimento para descrever a direção na qual algo ou alguém está se movendo / andando.) | Up, down, into, out of, from…to.., through, over, along, round, across, onto.(para cima / baixo / dentro / fora, de…para…, através, sobre, por / pelo, ao redor, pela, por sobre)

For transportation, we use by  Para transporte, usamos a preposição de) |
By bus, by car, by train, by plane, by boat/ship, by taxi; on foot, on horseback.(de ônibus, de carro, de trem, de avião, de barco, de táxi; mas dizemos: a pé / a cavalo)
We like to travel by plane. (Nós gostamos de viajar de avião.) |

| Arrive at places, hotels, work, events (chegar a lugares, hotéis, trabalho, eventos) | They arrived at the hotel at 5 p.m.(Elas chegaram ao hotel às 5 horas da tarde.)
She arrived at the party at 11 p.m. (Ela chegou à festa às 11 horas da noite.) |
| We do not use the preposition to with home: go home, come home, get home, arrive home, back home, on the way home.(Em inglês, não usamos preposição to (para / ao) com home (lar): (ir, vir, chegar, de volta, a caminho de casa): | Let’s go home. (Vamos pra casa.)Come home early. (Venha pra casa cedo.)
I am on my way home. (Eu estou a caminho de casa.) They will get home soon. (Eles chegarão em casa em breve / logo.) |
| At home: be at home / stay at home (estar em casa / ficar em casa) | She is at home now.(Ela está em casa agora.)
